The wedding

The wedding was beautiful of course.  I took the day off on Friday so Sarah and I could get some things done.  One of those things being spray tanned for the 1st time for both of us.  It was quite the experience.  It gave us something to crack up about for the rest of the night.  We were DARK and a bit on the orange side.  We couldn't cry because it was streak our tan so we laughed hysterically instead every time we looked in the mirror.  Ah, just like the good ole days back at GU.

We got our orange butts in the car and headed to IA Friday afternoon.  It seemed like a short drive.  Shorter than the hour drive I take to and from work every day.  I guess it had something to do with my company.  We had a lot of things to catch up on and wasted no time doing it.

A little background for you.  Sarah and Lindsay are 2 of my best friends from college.  The 3 of us ran cross country and track together and Lindsay played softball with me as well.  We are completely and harshly honest with each other and can all take it without clawing each other's eyes out.  They are the type of friends where it doesn't matter how long it has been we can pick up where we left off with no interruptions or awkwardness.  We were all 3 in each other's weddings.

On with the wedding pictures already.

Sarah's hair looked adorable.  This is us playing around waiting for Lindsay to come out of the bathroom.  We had yet to see her.

Thank goodness we lost about 1/2 of our spray tan in the drain that morning!  It actually looked pretty good on the wedding day, but we were a bit embarrassed at the rehearsal.  I was at least, but still laughing!

There she is.  A little nervous, but looking beautiful!  And the 3 of us together again!

This is Wyatt's future wife.  It is going to be an arranged marriage.  She has got to be one of the cutest things I have seen!  And very well behaved!

This is after the wedding at the rehearsal and after a great meal and CAKE.  YUM!

So I mentioned that my dress didn't fit 2 or 3 days before the wedding so my mom worked her magic!  Thank goodness for her.  You couldn't even tell it wasn't supposed to be that way!  I could of used a better pose, but whatever!  On the right were my roommates for the weekend.  That is Sarah's youngest Skyler.  You might remember her from here.

She was such a good girl.  She even waited until the wedding was over and almost everyone was out of the church before she blew out of her pretty polka dotted dress!  It took 3 people and 20 to 30 minutes later to get her cleaned up.  Silly girl!

Our bouquets.
All 3 of us again at the reception.

On the dance floor.  This picture cracks me up.  This is Lindsay's aunt we have known since college as well!  Hilarious!

And the happy newlyweds Lindsay and Kyle.  Thanks so much guys for making us a part of your special day!

Weekend run down

What a great weekend I had.  A lot of big things happened.  I am really tired, but it was all worth it!

1.  I found out just what an awesome husband I have and just how great of a daddy he is.  He was home alone with the kids since Friday and they act like it was the best weekend ever (hurts a little).  He didn't skip a beat and kept the house clean.  Kids were clean, house was clean, nothing broken, no sunburns, everyone was in decent moods, regular meals, NAPS, and he was happy that I was away and having a good time.  No jealousy like some times in the past.  They watched movies, played on the slip and slide, he cooked dinner, and they got some work done.  I think he classifies as super dad.  He did a much better job than I do and it looks like he doesn't need me around at all.  It's good to know, but I'm not going anywhere!

2.  Waylon said goodbye to his bink!  He is officially a big boy and seems to be talking more than ever.  He has even started to call me mommy, ok it sounds more like Maui, but I will take either one.  He did have one set back while I was gone.  He begged for it as he was fighting his nap and daddy caved.  Dale said he ended up taking a 4 hour nap and never asked for it again.  I guess he had to let it go on his terms.

3.  Waylon is also pretending to pee like his big brother.  Not bad at 20 months!  One of these times he is really going to go.

4.  Wyatt "missed me so much" and answered the phone all by himself when I called to check in for the day on Saturday.  I won't mention what time it was because all of the other great things cancel that one little late (really late) bed time out.

5.  I spent some much needed time with my girls that I haven't seen together in a long time.

6.  I laughed until I cried several times.

7.  I realized just how much I missed my boys.  I wished so bad that they were all there during the reception.  I seriously had to compose myself.

8.  My mom worked some magic and fixed up my dress to make it fit.  It looked like it was really supposed to be that way.  Pictures to come.

9.  I got plenty of sleep!

10.  I was able to drive 2 plus hours straight without having to turn the radio on, keep myself awake, or stop for a bathroom break.  Pretty successful trip if you ask me!

And by the way the wedding went really, really well!  I will give you a whole post on that soon pictures included!

How was your weekend?

What would you do?

I need to get something off of my chest that happened yesterday that made me fuming mad.  I'm not sure why it made me so mad, but it did.  I'm not John Quinones or anything, but I want to know what you would do.

But, before I get into that, I don't fit into my bridesmaid dress I am supposed to wear Saturday.  Oops!  It's in my mom's hands now to see if she can make something work.  I told you all that the desert after every meal was not doing me well!

On a brighter note, Waylon took a nap at the baby sitter's yesterday without his binki and thought nothing of it.  WHAT?  If I enter that kid's room with him on my hip and the light is off he starts yelling for his binki.  So, now that I know he can do it I went for my chance to get rid of it all together.  He on the other hand was not on board with my little plan.  He cried pretty hard for awhile then I went in to rock him.  I put him back down, he cried a little more then it was over.  Not bad!  I was hoping he would make it through the night.  Sometimes he wakes up and cries if he can't find it.  Sure enough 3:00am rolled around and I hear him wailing (yes, Waylon wails).  I went back there asked him to lay down and he did it and went right back to sleep!  What a big boy!  I was so proud.

He was grumpy this morning though.  Really grumpy.  It was the 1st thing he reached for when I started to pick him up and when he couldn't find it he let me know he wasn't happy.  Such is life my son!   Tough love!  I am hoping he makes it through today and tonight.  If we can make it that far I think we can say goodbye to the binki for good!  Unless his dad caves this weekend while I am away, which is 150% possible!

Anyway on to my rant!  I was walking to my car after work yesterday and got stuck behind 2 guys.  They obviously knew each other and were having a light conversation.  We get to the 1st door and the 1st guy went through making sure to hold the door a little longer so his friend could make it through as well.  I was about 2 steps behind the 2nd guy.  The 2nd guy doesn't even touch the door to hold it so I can make it through.  Ok, I thought, that was kind of rude, no big deal though.  We have 3 more doors to go through.  He does the same thing at each freakin door.

I got increasingly more mad at each door.  What a jerk!  It's not that I think I am entitled to have the door held for me because I am a girl women or anything of the sort.  It is just something you do because it is common courtesy!!!  I don't even expect for him to open the door and step aside while I go in 1st which is what any REAL gentleman would do.  Just hold the door as you are going through so I don't have it slam in my face.  I mean, that is what your guy friend is doing for you.  I do it and it doesn't matter if you are a man, women, or child.  I don't do it for the thank you.  I do it because I would want someone to do that for me.

Part of me was mad at myself because I really wanted to say something to the guy, but I didn't.  I didn't want to come off as some arrogant snob.  I want to know why he chose to act that way.  So, my question for you all is:
  1. Would you say anything?
  2. If you would have said anything what would it have been?
I'm not looking to shred the guy to pieces here.  I want to genuinely know what you all would respectfully say to educate the guy.  I feel like I should have said something because common courtesy and care for your neighbor is quickly flying out the window and I want to do my part to slow it down.  I don't think we should continue down this road of not caring for others, or putting ourselves before others.  Besides, this behavior makes people (me) mad and it distracts me from saying goodbye to the security girl, who I always say goodbye to because IT IS A NICE THING TO DO and it makes them feel like they aren't invisible and that they matter as a person.

So, let me hear it.  What would you do?

Wordless Wednesday

I promise, I won't always post clouds and skies, but this stormy weather has given me good material lately.  I don't know if I ever mentioned on here, but I love storms as long as destruction isn't involved.  I love the power they possess and I love the way the sky can look.  It is a clear picture of what God can do with us and with this world we stand on.  It's truly amazing to me.

Now Wyatt sometimes points out how pretty the sky is or how awesome a cloud looks before I do. It swells my heart to know that he is noticing what is around him and seeing the beauty in it.

It is also a time where I put my trust in God.  I learned that lesson long ago in my upstairs bedroom of my childhood home.  I was so afraid when storms would come as it was time to go to sleep.  I thought for sure our house would be picked up and tossed away by a tornado or that lightning would hit.  I finally got sick of being afraid and decided that God knows what is going to happen and if he thinks it is our turn to be picked up and carried away He is going to do it.  If not, He won't.  So, it is time for me to stop worrying about it and go to sleep!!!  What a turning point in my life.

So much for a "Wordless" Wednesday!  Go check out all the others here!  Happy Wordless Wednesday to all!

Another award, who me???

Maureen from Tatterscoops has been opening my eyes to a whole new world, literally.  She was sweet enough to pass on this award.  As with any award there are rules.  So here is a run down of some answers to a few good questions.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Easy one!  I always wanted to be a teacher and a mommy.  We had a lot of books at home and I would gather them all and pass them out on the bed like I had students sitting there.  Then I would pretend to teach class.  Funny, I still have a desire to be a teacher.  Not sure why I didn't follow that dream.  I think the thought of money had something to do with it.  Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have listened to that thought.

What is your most prized material possession?
Probably my house.

Do you have an iGadgetOfSomeDescription?
No igadgets for me but I would love to have an iPad some day.  I think.

What is your poison–hot shower or warm bath?
Baths take too long and I usually get way too hot and feel wrinkly, water logged, and drained by the time I get out.  So, I prefer a hot shower and an occasional bath.

What is the best decision you ever made?
Can I list 3?  Sure I can, it's my blog.
  1. Asking Dale to the girls ask guys dance when I was a sophomore in high school
  2. Deciding to become a Christian
  3. Going to college

In that order.

Thanks, Maureen for being sweet enough to think of me!  Life is good!

Now time to do the duty and pass it on.

Cooking up Faith with Big Fat Mama - because she is inspiring.

Enjoy you all!!!

An update for you

Here are just some random things to update you so you know I'm still kickin.

The summer and the humidity are completely wearing me out. We are staying pretty busy at home and every night has turned into bath night since the boys like to be outside so much right now. Baths really take it out of me!

The boys are obsessed with water. They want to throw rocks in water anywhere and everywhere. It doesn't matter if it is a small puddle in the driveway. I am really wishing we would stop getting storms every night so those little puddles will go away and we don't have to spend hours doing this little thing.  It gets them really dirty and smelling like mud, yuk!  They love it so much that I heard Wyatt name one of the rocks last night.  His name was little buddy and when little buddy got lost in the puddle he would yell out for him asking where he was.  Great!  One of his first friends is a rock.  A black rock of asphalt with little white rocks stuck in it!  It reminds me of Joe Dirt carting around that lump of crap in a wagon.  Putting ketchup on it and dipping his fries in it.  Let's hope it doesn't go to that extent.  Wyatt could totally pull off the Joe Dirt look though if we got him a mullet wig.  Hey, that's a good idea for Halloween one year.

If you can believe it Waylon is more obsessed than Wyatt. He is constantly talking about throwing rocks in the water. CONSTANTLY! Did you get that? ALL.OF.THE.TIME!  And doing the arm motion of throwing a rock.  Everywhere he sees water when we are driving he yells it out.  It is all he is talking about when he isn't whining about wanting picked up, his bink, or wanting to watch Wall-E.

Speaking of Wall-E, the boys had their 1st big fight over what movie to watch the other night. Waylon actually ended up going to our room and watching the movie by himself, no kidding. What almost 20 month old separates himself from his momma to go watch a movie by himself? I don't get him at all sometimes! Of course he didn't watch all of it, but he watched a lot more than I thought he would. This is all while I was cooking dinner by the way. It's not like we send our kids off to other parts of the house to be entertained by tv so we can just sit on the couch. I'm sure some day we might do that, but not now (they won't let us :)!

I have been pretty proud of Wyatt lately. He is starting to lose the little 4 year old attitude, or he is learning that it isn't going to fly with momma! He begged me to go tell the pastor happy father's day as soon as he stopped preaching. I let him and he ran right up to him, shook his hand, and confidently told him Happy Father's day like he was a little man or something. It was the cutest thing and it may or may not have caused me to tear up a little, but what doesn't these days? Reading all of the Father's day posts out there about had me in tears! There were some really sweet ones!  Yep, and it made me feel guilty for not doing a better job with mine.  You can't even call mine a Father's Day post, but still.  I suck!

One of my little guys from Children's church (I help out every once in awhile) was baptised and decided to give his life to Christ on Father's day. What a special moment. He is a good kid and seems to know what he is doing!  I think he made his daddy (a single dad, by the way) very proud!

One of my best friends had her 2nd baby girl on Friday. Welcome to the world Brooklyn and to your blessed family. I have a feeling you might really enjoy it around that huge family you just entered into! She came in at a whopping 8lbs 14 oz. Yowzers! Her birth story was a lot like Wyatt's only daddy was there for the event and she weighed over 3.5 pounds more than him! She is of course beautiful! I didn't waste any time getting over there to hold that bundle of joy and I do mean bundle! Shelly looked amazing. Why is it that out of all of my friends my face gets the biggest from all of the swelling and I look like a white pumpkin?

We celebrated my MIL's 63rd birthday on Saturday at TX Roadhouse. It was a great time and it was so loud in there that it was kind of relaxing not having to tell the kids to lower their voices a million and 1 times. Here is a video. She was a great sport.  Yee Haw!

Afterwards we took the boys to Home Depot because we are cool like that. Actually they thought they were the coolest in this race car basket.

They were pretty cute! Waylon's shirt says, "These puppies are illegal in 47 states" Just in case you were wondering. Get it? It is way more fitting on him than it was on his brother.   Yeah, that is Dale's tan ass arm there.  He has some indian in him so he gets extremely dark really quick with a tint of red and it makes me sick or just jealous, but you know what I do to jealousy!  Me on the other hand am going to have to get spray tanned for a wedding I'm about to mention in a minute!

This is getting pretty long for a random update post so I better cut it off. I won't be doing a Friday Flip-off this week. I know you all will be so disappointed, but I am off to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friend's wedding! I hope I can fit into my dress and I hope that my hair will cooperate during the wedding because it sure hasn't been liking the humidity lately. There is a flip off for you!

I actually don't know when I will be blogging again. We have quite a few busy weeks coming up. So, I guess you will hear from me when you hear from me!

Friday Flip-Off's

Another Friday has arrived, which means it is time to get a good laugh out of the stresses from the week and move into the weekend carefree and ready for anything.  Thanks to Kludgymom for creating this little venue.  Go check out her page and see the others!

I want to flip off  the rage and very judgemental feelings I often get from 2 things:
  1. Traffic - I know, again, right!  But, I spend an hour each way every day going to and from work.  So, I get to experience a lot of this!  I think it is just going to have to be a constant thing.  These people bring the most vulgar thoughts and words to my head.  Thank goodness I don't say them out loud and quickly ask for forgiveness for even thinking them.
  2. There have been a couple of people in Blog Frog land lately that are trashing up the place with their comments and discussions they are starting.  They make me rage as well.  I am pretty sure they are doing it on purpose to turn things ugly.  I wish people would realize not responding to them would make them go away!
So, flip off to both of these things for the feelings they cause within me and flip off to myself for allowing them to get me there.  Now I need to go start working on some apparent anger issues I have!

I have yet to receive a negative comment (I apparently haven't arrived) but I know a lot who have.  What is it with some people?  It is one thing when you respectfully disagree with someone, but another when you totally knock them down as a person.  Get real people and work on your own issues.  Flip off!

And flip off to the constant need to have desert after every.single.meal!  It is bikini season here!

But, to end on a positive note, it is Friday and that means the weekend is here.  That also means that I don't have to get up before the sun tomorrow or Sunday.

The Fireworks tents are going up, which I love, but it is also a sign that the summer is in fact going by extremely too fast.

And it is Father's Day weekend!  Happy Father's Day to all out there.  We don't have any plans.  We are just going to let Dale do what he does every weekend, whatever it is he wants to do.  And on Sunday we will go to church and spend the rest of the day with our dad's just like we do every Sunday.  So, I guess what I'm saying is I'm not too sure what makes Father's Day any different from every other day around here.  I mean I love Dale being a dad and I don't mean to put him down in any way, but he has the life around these parts.  If he doesn't want to cook, clean, put the kids to bed, or bath the kids he simply doesn't.

But he is a  great dad and deserves to be celebrated with a card or something.  No, I'm kidding.  Maybe on Sunday I won't try to give him a guilt trip for doing whatever he wants to do while I am cooking, cleaning, bathing the kids and putting them to bed along with the million other things I will be doing.  (Way to make it about me!  I totally don't cook on the weekends and I rarely clean.  He actually does a lot around the house.)

Seriously, Happy Father's day!

Thomas the Train

My sweet Mother-in-law (yes, I said sweet) bought the whole family A Day Out with Thomas tickets.  I love my MIL by the way.  She is great, honestly.  I didn't give her enough credit right after I had Wyatt, but I was the on edge 1st time mom too.  I couldn't ask for a better MIL.  Just so you all know.

Anyway, my nephew Connor is a HUGE Thomas fan and always has been.  He knows them all and now has all of the train characters.  So, when Linda heard Thomas would be near by, she jumped at the opportunity and asked us along.  My boys aren't near the fans Connor is, but they do like him and was excited to get to see him.

The day?  Wow!  The weather the night before said around 91 degrees with spotted thunderstorms.  I thought we would be ok and I dressed our family for 91 degree weather.  It was raining so hard on the way down there we could barely see a few times.  I thought surely it would let up by the time we got there.  No big deal anyway because the car temp was reading 78 degrees.  I can handle being soaked if it is warm out.  Too bad that temp kept going down and it kept raining harder the closer we got.  And sure enough when we arrived the rain just kept on coming.  I decided I wasn't going to let it totally ruin our time and that I wasn't going anywhere near a mirror!

There was so much to do there.  It was just too hard to get anything done trying to dodge the running river going through the set up.  We went to 1 story time and to the gift shop and then decided just to head for the line to board Thomas.

Thank goodness they had the line section covered.  As we were waiting under the tent the worst of the rain fell.  It was horrible.  I felt sorry for all of the mommies, daddies, and grandparents scurrying their little ones to shelter.  The kids were wet, cold, and crabby to say the least.  There were melt downs left and right.  It was kind of funny.

We finally boarded Thomas. We were all packed in like wet, soggy sardines. Here is Connor. Doesn't he looked thrilled to be riding Thomas?!

The boys with their daddy.  This is how you can find the 3 of them these days, all over each other.  They are either climbing him or wrestling with him.  It's pretty great.  Waylon is on a huge daddy kick and asks for him all of the time.  It does give me a break, which is good, but then I really start missing them.

Here are the boys being little turds!  Wyatt is really into silly poses these days.  Waylon wouldn't let me take his picture after awhile and would pose and then quickly hide his face.  I got him on this one.  Love how he is holding his daddy's hand too.

Linda made all of the boy's shirts too.  Wyatt is actually wearing Waylon's here because his was a bit too big.  They turned out really cute!

Here's the back.

Wyatt driving the firetruck.  He loved it.  We all had a pretty good day despite the rain.  We were all too hungry after the train ride when the sun was trying to show it's face.  The boys got to watch a little magic show, share a funnel cake, and "drive" the firetruck.  Then it was back on the school bus shuttle to the car.

Maybe we can try again next year on a better day!  This trip won't soon be forgotten, that's for sure!  We also got some much needed time with the boy's great grandma Maxine.

We did get this adorable little snapshot out of it.  Thank goodness you can't tell how bad my hair really looks here.  I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out so well.  I don't know what got into Mr. Cheese face, his head is bigger than anyone else's in the family, and he is the youngest Waylon and there is Wyatt again with his silly poses.  He was really trying to be funny.  I don't think this kid could BE any more like his daddy.  (Haven't I said that before?)  This is one of my favorites!

Friday Flip-offs!!

Friday Flip Off's was created by KludgyMom to release frustrations from the past week and get a good laugh from it all. Won't you join in? Just go visit KludgyMom and link in and check out the others. They are always good for a laugh.

I thought of the perfect picture to use for this post last night on my way home.  It gave me the giggles and I found myself bursting into laughter several times on my way home just thinking about it and how perfect it would be.  But, I can't bring myself to use it, ok, so Dale won't let me use it.  It is of him and he isn't a fan of having it posted on here for thousands (HA) to see.  So, I'm going to respect his wishes and not use it, but man it would have been great.

On with the fun.

To the little attitude that comes along with the age of 4, flip off!  You know the attitude, Mr. I can do or say anything I want and talk back to you because I am 4!  Oh no you won't and things aren't going to be very pleasant until you get that little fact.

To this little emotion called jealousy, you have started to get the best of me and I'm not going to have it.  Who cares if most of my friends are able to spend their summers with their babies by the pool and doing fun things.  I'm going to be happy for them.  So flip off!

To the guy that thinks I have a sunglasses tan around my eyes, flip off!  I only wear my sunglasses in the car there Champ.  I guess white circles are better than dark circles.  You are an idiot and stop knocking the pictures of my boys over on my table with your butt.  It sends me into Momma Grizzly mode.  Flip off again because you deserve it.

Ah, that feels better but not as good as eating a sausage biscuit and receiving our bonus checks at work.  Woot Woot!!!!  Now who's jealous?  Oh, you're not?  Well, good you shouldn't be.  Happy Friday everyone and an even happier weekend!

Someone likes me...

How sweet is this?!  I received another award.  It is especially sweet since the only other 2 awards I received (on the same day) I didn't pass on and thought I would never receive another one again.  So glad Korinne was able to look past it.

So here it is.  I love it and appreciate it!

Now onto 10 more things you supposedly don't know about me.  HMMMM????  Since I have started this blog trying to come up with something you all don't know is a hard task to accomplish for all of you loyal readers.  You should know everything by now (wink.wink)!   Ah, sorry, I totally don't spill it all here.  There are some things I have tucked away.  But, is there anything I can unveil for you, I don't know?  Oh, for goodness sakes get on with it!  Ahem!!

  1. I shot my brother in the eye once with a bow and arrow.  It was a child's set with the tip broke off, but it still did some damage and he had a couple of surgeries.  It was an accident.  Like I knew I had that good of an aim at that age.
  2. Everyday I take my lunch to work (well, most days) and every day I am starving after I eat it. It is usually not packed in small portions either.  I'm starving now.
  3. I hate these "brush over" bangs I had my stylist cut. What was I thinking? They get in my way!
  4. I used "stylist" in the sentence above to make me sound cool!
  5. I should have gotten into major trouble for a few things I did in high school, but I flew under the radar.  No need to bring up the past!
  6. I have been listening to the Word of Promise (Bible on CD) to and from work and I have to slap myself in the face to stay awake.  That sounded bad, but I am still in the old testament when so and so begot so and so.  Let's face it you all, that is not the most exciting life lesson teaching the Bible has to offer.
  7. I can't wait to get to the book of Job.  I think that is one of my favorite books.
  8. I check my phone (Facebook and Twitter) way too often!  Dale thinks I am addicted!
  9. I'm allergic to penicillin.  (Yes I'm reaching here)  I did have a really bad reaction to it when I was younger.  It was actually the sickest I have ever been and spent some time in the hospital because of it.
  10. I have been on 1 cruise in my life with some really great friends.  It will probably be the only cruise in my life.  Dale tries to stay away from big ships in the middle of the ocean.  But it was an awesome time!
It's time to pass it on and yep, I'm gonna do it this time.

Geez, Baby!  This is Dale's cousin and now mine.  I like to think that she belongs to me, not Dale.  Anyway, I love her and I want to see her blog more because she has a ton of stuff to offer the blogosphere with her spunk and all.

Me Daily  Because I so totally miss her and her blogging since she decided to move.

MommaKiss  This lady cracks my $h*# up!  I don't cuss much (on here) but she does and she does it well.  She is a great mommy too and I enjoy reading her tales.

Time for D

Our anniversary was great.  A lot better than last year where we got a day away from the kids and were headed out the door to spend the night at a historic hotel close to us but noticed at the last second that our basement was flooded.  We spent the next few hours bailing it out and by the time we were finished we were way too tired to do any celebrating, but we forced it anyway.  We ended up having a pretty good time after all.  That was our anniversary I am remembering, right?

The room wasn't that great and I wanted a massage, but he didn't.  Then I wanted to go to the pool, but he didn't.  So we stayed in our room and then got something to eat AND THEN were able to enjoy some fireworks (the real kind for all of you with your mind in the gutter.)  It was pretty cool and we enjoyed our time together with just the 2 of us.

This year there were no historic hotel plans.  I woke up on Saturday and asked him what he wanted to do.  Our plans - go eat.  Sounds great to me.  I may or may not have thrown a little fit about not having any clothes to wear.  We took the boys to my parents around 7.  Did a little shopping for some stinkin clothes and didn't eat until around 9.  I WAS STARVING!  And it was GOOD!

Then we went to pick the boys back up and they begged to stay the night, ok Wyatt begged.  Waylon whined.  So they did, we went back home and decided to start watching a movie around 1:30AM.  Smart, I know.  So much for sleeping in and taking advantage of no kids.  I stayed awake through the whole thing.  SHOCKER!  It was pretty good.  Then off to dream land for the next 6 hours.

I say all of that to say after 14 years together, 7 official, nights like that are perfect for me.  We don't need no fancy celebrating or even a card!  We just need each other, being us and enjoying ourselves.  The only thing I would trade it for is a vacation to Hawaii.  Maybe year 10??!!

Thanks for the great night and for all of your help lately, babe!  It makes the world of difference to me even if I don't act like it.

What a glorious morning

I know today is Monday and all, usually my least favorite day of the week.  However, today I got to sleep in, went to a fun little appointment, and then found out I got featured here!  What an awesome surprise on this Monday morning.  And to top it all off it is our 7th anniversary.

That's right 7 years of wedded bliss.  You know that is what it has been, right!  That's a total of 14 years together.  How old am I, oh yeah, 30! I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon if I have anything to do with it.

He has given me my dream so far.  No he didn't get that Porsche he promised me in the back seat of the high school track bus, but he gave me the life we live right now and I am completely happy with it.  Not to mention those 2 little dirty blondes running madly around the house with their snotty noses, sunburns, and filthy finger nails.  They are a part of him and they make me feel so complete.

I am thankful for the time we have been given and praying for so much more.  Happy Anniversary, babe!  I love you always/forever!

Here's to many, many more squinted years together.  I WILL get you back on that beach someday soon!  But any beach in Hawaii will do just fine by me too.  PLEASE!!!!????

Friday Flip-Offs

Friday Flip Off's was created by KludgyMom to release our frustrations from the past week and get a good laugh from it all.  Won't you join in?  Just go visit KludgyMom and link in and check out the others.  They are always good for a laugh.

Let the fun begin...

To the allergies that have kicked my butt this week.  Thank you for the constant sniffing, faucet of a nose but stuffy at the same time, lost voice, sore throat, burning sinuses, eye watering, wheezing, tight chest, feeling of dying, hacking, phlegm choking, my butt to the couch sticking, body aching kind of reaction due to a little fun on the Polaris over the weekend.  Flip off, but I'm not letting you ruin my life.  I'm moving on with or without you.  Flip off.

To my high heel that got stuck in the cuff of my pant leg and almost flung me down who knows how many flights of stairs the other day.  Flip off.  Good thing the only muscles I have left in my arms helped catch me before I took the plunge.

To the girl in the 20 year old escort with the flip phone, horrible shirt, and stringy hair that was dancing and singing so loudly in her car and taking her own picture and checking it out over and over again going down Broadway FLIP OFF for being so freakin stupid.  Pay attention to the road and get the hell out of my way.

To whoever thinks it is a good idea to have football camp from 6 to 9 all week right after school ended and right when I thought I was getting my husband back, FLIP OFF.  (Just in case you ever read this Herb, just kidding you know I love you, but seriously, let me have my husband back until fall, mmm k!)

And to myself for once again skipping D-Day.  Sorry for the snub, babe.  You know I love you anyway.  Plus you really earned it this week for skipping camp on Wednesday and letting my fat arse sit on the couch all night and recover from this freakin allergy attack.  Flip off.

As a side note, I hope to get back into my blogging grove again soon.  I have some exciting things coming up to blog about.  I so know you can't wait!  Have a great weekend y'all!

Happy Birthday, Wyatt

I have done pretty well this weekend not getting emotional because it has been one busy weekend.  If I let myself sit down and think about it I would be an emotional mess.  My baby turned 4 yesterday.  To read how he surprised us 4 years ago click here.  Memorial Day weekend is quickly shaping up to be one of my favorite weekend/holidays ever.  I love it and so far we have been blessed with perfect weather. Not just because of Wyatt's birthday, but for all that it means.

I've mentioned how I couldn't get through the Happy Birthday song last year without getting choked up.  This year I felt the lump forming, but had a great distraction.  Turns out Dale and I forgot to buy a candle for his cake.  I can't believe we did that.  All I had was a 0, 1, 2, 3 and some random football candle and that was it.  I quickly grabbed the 3 and the 1 and made a plus sign out of some toothpicks.  He's got to learn math sometime, right?!  It was pretty funny regardless.
We sang Happy Birthday and I was able to make it through the song with no tears, just laughs singing to this beautiful little face.
Here he is waiting for his motorcycle cake.  We didn't do a theme this year.  He isn't stuck on one  specific thing.  This kid likes everything and when we asked what kind of birthday he wanted he rattled off about a hundred different things.  So we went with the motorcycle cake.
Blowing out the candles and making his wish.  He could care less that there wasn't a 4 on there.  I quickly grabbed him after blowing out his candles and told him how proud I was of him and how much I loved him.

We've been asking him what he planned on doing now that he is 4 and he says in the most confident voice and serious face, "Maybe go to school."  I'm working on that one.

Since last Thursday he has been asking if his birthday was starting yet.  He had a ton of things he wanted to do.  Have friends over, go swimming, go down the big slide, eat popcorn, have a truck cake and a motorcycle cake.  Go see dinosaurs and have hot dogs.  He got everything he wanted for his birthday minus the fireworks and the additional truck cake.

The party was a complete boy fest!  We need to add some girls to the family!  Eight boys total.  They all had a blast!

Waylon will kill me someday for this.  I have no idea how we ended up with a little girl's swimmer, but we did.  Poor guy.  And no, there are no shoe strings in his shoes.  Grandma picked a random pair out of his room.  They did the job though.

We had our college friends come down for the big event as well.  Here is Landyn.  He is 8 months old and a really good baby unless he is hungry of course.  This picture looks a lot more fierce than it was.  He was patting Landyn on the head like a dog.  He was actually really good with him, which came as a big surprise to me.  Turns out he loves babies!

Wyatt giving some baby love as well.  Of course he loves babies!

Waylon's normal state these days, whining for mommy, who he still does not call mommy, GRRR!
Wyatt just woke up from his nap on the way to see the dinosaurs.  He couldn't be more excited.  That quickly changed once we walked in the Dinosaur Museum (hearing him say museum is the cutest thing in the world) and he realized how dark and loud it was.

Thank goodness we had this discovery dig thing to warm him up a bit or the whole dinosaur museum would have been a major bust.

I would be scared too!

We had a blast and so glad we planned such a full weekend to celebrate our baby's birthday.

No that isn't Dale in the photo above and to your right.  Lewis and Dale decided to play wife swap (not really).  Lewis and I ended up with most of the kids.  How does that happen?

Geez, what a great family picture.  1st of all let's work on our posing, 2nd thanks for smiling,  Waylon and 3rd, you aren't coaching here, Dale! (Good job, Wyatt)

Little Lew!
I love this picture and I think it is a great way to end this great Memorial Day Weekend post!  Thank you so much, Lewis and Lyndsey for celebrating EVERYTHING with us!  We had a great time!!  Looking forward to seeing you guys soon!

Wyatt and I ended his birthday weekend sitting in daddy's chair sharing a bowl of ice cream.  It couldn't have been better.  We talked about all the new things we will be doing and how I couldn't believe he was 4 and how much I love him.  He will always be my baby though.  I love him so much.  The very best thing is he told me he was going to bed without crying and he was going to stay there.  AND HE DID!  I don't know what to do with myself and I really can't believe I made it through this post without any tears.  I love you Robert Wyatt Sharp!  Happy Birthday for the millionth time!
