Instead, I grabbed my camera, tucked my jammie pants into my boots, and took my last night's makeup covered face out on a hike. I was out to capture this season that I love so much. I haven't taken a hike through the woods in years. Probably since I was a child. What a rejuvenating thing it is to do. I feel like I should have had some kind of flashing light on me indicating I was recharging. That's exactly what it felt like.
I don't like to be cold and I especially don't like to be wet and cold, but this morning was different. It was a little chilly and sprinkling, but I didn't mind at all. I guess you kind of block that out when you are surrounded by beauty.
I love this picture of our toy covered wet deck.
I had a visit from our neighbors.
She wasn't too sure she wanted me taking her picture. I quickly backed away once she turned her backside to me.
Our newest neighbor, Thor. He seems pretty friendly, much friendlier than the other!
It's so encouraging to see the plants that my family planted in my beds in the fall made it through all the snow and are growing like crazy even though we keep having cold snaps.
The creek was full.
I found this thing so prominent at the base of such a large dark tree.
This creek sounded amazing with the birds.
My feet got a little damp, but I still didn't mind.
I think this is my favorite picture of the day. To me it says so much. God's light is shining on you in just the right light no matter what state you are in.
This got me to thinking even more about his timing and how every little thing He does is done at just the right time for just the right reasons. What a blessing to be reminded of that message.
It started raining a little bit harder on these infant Cattails. So, I tucked my camera into my jacket and headed home.
But not before sneaking a glimpse at a perfect glimmer of purple.
This morning put a smile on my face and renewed my spirit just by stepping out into my backyard. I feel so good about where I am right now and complete with my family. I feel completely blessed.
Now time to kick it into gear and clean like a mad women!
Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteYah!! So happy for you. First, that you were recharged. And secondly- that you captured so many gorgeous shots of spring. Way to go girl. Woohoo! That last one is stunning. But they are all wonderful. What great shots of the horse and the water droplet. Bravo. Hope you have a wonderful Easter with your fam.
ReplyDeleteYou made a great choice. A year from now will anyone remember if the floor was clean? Or the laundry washed today or tomorrow? But you will have the memories and the beautiful photos from your spontaneous hike in the fresh air!
