Mother's Day was great at the Sharp's. The boys let me sleep in. I mean they really let me sleep in. Wyatt came to our bed around 7 in the morning, but just to be closer and snuggle with his mama. I will take that. We got up around 9. Dale fed the boys and we were off to church. Dale tried to make sure I never had my hands full, but I didn't mind having my hands full of Waylon.
I was standing in church, singing our songs, Waylon's head on my shoulder and I got the best feeling ever. This is where I am supposed to be and what I am supposed to be doing right here, right now. I just squeezed him tighter and let it all soak in. So happy that I was able to be celebrating Mother's Day as a mommy.
Our kids were supposed to sit with us through church yesterday, HA! Not mine! Waylon doesn't talk that much, but he always seems to "talk" when he isn't supposed to. So, I scurried him out into the foyer near the end because I had a feeling he was starting to be distracting. How could you not be distracted by his adorableness! Soon Dale came to relieve me so I could enjoy the sermon. What a great dad and husband.
We spent the rest of the afternoon eating from one place to the next. Waylon begging for my attention the entire time and Wyatt being as cute as ever with his cousin. The only thing I would have added? Me on the couch with Dale on one side and a boy on each of our laps doing absolutely nothing, but enjoying each other's company.
Of course Wyatt didn't stay in bed like he was supposed to last night, but he is getting better each night and he isn't fighting when he gets sent back to his room. Last night he got up 3 times and ended each time with a sweet little, "I love you, mommy. I just wanted to give you a hug and kiss." Sweet man!
Hope your Mother's Day was a great one as well!
Glad it went so well for you. Mine had some sweet surprises as well.
